Pic Request 3" lift 31" Tires 4Runner

Im wanting to lift my runner. I dont want to go huge with the tires and I cant seem to find anything under 3" lift. My stock springs are shot! So Im thinking while Im replacing them I should just go with mild lift. I only want to run 31" tires. Im trying to build a nice capable wheeler without going huge. Well this combo look bad though? Anyone have any pics would be awesome!

I have a complete OME lift on my 85 4Runner and it's advertised as 2.5". I'm also running BFG 31" MT's. Just do an advanced search for threads started by me and you should find lots of photos.

lift isn't the first thing to do if you want to build a capable wheeler

well, I run 37" tires with a 3" lift (84 4runner), so I'd say it would look funny. If you can't find stock replacement springs, then just get the 3" ones and take out a leaf or two. Really, 33" tires will fit easily under a stock height SFA 4runner, so 31's shouldn't be a challenege

Here ya go. It's a good combo, in my opinion. 63" Chevy half ton springs, ball joint spacers, and a little "torsion adjusting" to get it where I liked it. Too bad this truck is no more... (I know it's IFS, but at least you can get the idea)

this is what i would do i would order 5in shackles for the front and 5.5in shackles rear cheap and will help those stock springs flex a little

Thanks, that helps alot!

With the shackles Im still left with the problem of worn out springs.

Proceed with caution with NWOR. Here's a couple of pics since I assume you didn't search for them. Again, these are the OME springs which are advertised at 2.5".

It's a 1985 so it has a solid front axle (unless someone has done something really stupid and converted it to IFS).

No its straight axle. Thanks for those pics. What about downeys. I had a hard time understanding their site. The way I read it, is if I want a 2" lift, I should go with their 3" lift for the runner because it settles. Im not sure if I read that right or not.

What about OME's? When I researched my new suspension system I concluded that OME was the way to go. Some people like Downey springs but there were lots of people that tried them and said that they sagged terribly after a year or two. The only negative opinion I ever heard about OME was the price. FWIW, I also never heard anything bad about Alcan's except for the price but I think you can only buy springs from them.

Yeah price is kinda a concern. Thats the problem with OME. Has any one ever built spring packs from other rigs?
