i think i need a new or rebuilt motor

Hi guys Ive been lurking here for years and I guess I should start asking some questions and making myself known . I have a 85 EFI SR5 extra cab witht the factory sunroof and every option toyota had back then . I only paid $800 for it and im super stoked about it . I made my own rock sliders and purchased a trail gear front bumper and a warn 8000 winch and mounted it on the bumper . I dont do alot of rock crawling but I do climb around in the dirt alot . I didnt really want to build a crawler I was leaning more towards and all around wheeler . I have 34x9.50 swampers on it and extended shackles . It does rub a little when turning but not asbad as I thought it would with these inverted front springs I have .lol. My best friend who is also my girlfriend just bought me a 3" suspension system for it so it hink its gonna be just about perfect hight wise . After that its gonna get gears and a locker in the rear . I am actually writing today because the motor is really tired its got over 200k on it and its low on oil pressure and I dont think ill be able to smog it after this time ( if it passes this time ) . I m wonderingif i should rebuild the motor i have or try to find one with less miles and instal it or buy a reman unit somehwere can you guys give me some suggestions on whats most cost affective or a casual wheeler like mine . Thanks for reading and sorry so long .

it cost ALOT less then your other options... lol

and buying another used old tired motor from someone else is never a good idea. UNLESS you are broke and your motor is NO GOOD.

Are you sure your low oil pressure is not resulting from lack of oil?

Yeah I know it sounds stupid, nor am I calling you stupid; ya gotta ask anyway. Might save you some bucks.

Hmm...yeah sounds like you're right, there's a good chance everything is just tired and worn out. Like 4x4 climber said, rebuild it yourself. Take your time and do it the way you want it.

sorry i didnt take alot of pics but its back together and running really well . I had the block and crank machined and bought a new engbldr.com head and cam and complete rebuild kit and i am very happy with the outcome . I do wish I would have bought new valve adjuster screws so it would be a little quieter . Its not crazy loud but I can hear em . I can pull hills with out downshifting and i can even cruise down the highway pretty good at 75 mph with stock gears and 35's ..fourth gear of course lol
