Exhaust help

I currently have a stock exhaust on my 84 pickup 22r. Can anyone tell me a good way to go to make it sound any better, without making it sound like an annoying moded honda civic?

I have heard mention of a catback, flow/magnaflow/borla/etc. system, and others. Does anyone have one that sounds good that could give me an idea?

I have a Magnaflow on my Tundra. Granted, twice the
number of cylinders, but with the tone it has, I seriously
doubt it would ever sound like a Civic

what about a flowmaster? Seems to me a lot of yota guys run 2 or 2.5 flowmasters. Do they sound pretty good? Are they expensive?

Depending on how loud you want it, I was going to get a flowmaster but was worried about having to much noise, then i considered magna flow which i heard has a really nice tone. I chose the easy way out and got a Dynomax Super Turbo cat back from Summit Racing Equipment which i'm really pleased with. It's a bolt up kit that was an easy install vs. having to weld the flowmastr or magnaflow. The Dynomax has a low mellow tone and I can still keep a conversation inside the cab. I also got a "test pipe" off ebay which helped the tone too. Made the engine breathe better too.

ok i checked it out and it looks good. Did you run it straight from the catalytic converter all the way back or did you bend it somewhere else? Also, what is the "test pipe" you referred to from ebay and where/what did you mount that to? Sorry im new at this and i dont know about all this stuff quite yet. thanks for the help

Check to see if you can get a kit for your year/make. I'm thinking they might not make a kit for that year. Mine runs back from the cat. Everything was included, no bending. Just mounted the new muffler and included tail pipes.
The "test pipe" is from RMT performance on Ebay. Just type in test pipe in the search box. It replaces the cat, it's just a straight pipe and bolts right on. Save your cat and throw it out when you have to get the truck smogged.

I found one that fits my year ('84) to '88s but it is just the muffler would i just need a straight pipe from there and i would be set? Also, do you put the muffler closer to the tailpipe or keep it where it is stock? Because i know that the farther the muffler is from the tail pipe the longer the sound is able to die... right?

here is the link its the third item down (super turbo)
