Downey Exhaust system

Has anyone put the full kit on their truck(inc. cat)?
Did it sound good? Loud or Quiet?

Just put Headers on and had a new pipe ran to my cat(2.5"). But am looking at a new cat and new muffler for my truck.

Any other brand that is better?

After much research, I went with LC Engineering's stainless header and also bought their entire stainless exhaust including a new cat. You might be able to buy equal but I don't think you can buy anything better.

They make the only header and exhaust system that I couldn't find any complaints about and after a year, I have no complaints either.

I've found that running an open header on a carb is... quite loud. It soudns great, but the noise kinda got in the way of talking to my date on the way to dinner so... to interrupting I decided. I've got a 67 Chevy if I want loud on certain days

it is MUCH cheaper to just build your own exhaust. The prices of the LC and Downey kits are ridiculous.

Just build using the old pipes if you have to and buy a flowmaster muffler. Ide go with downey headers anyday. Much better than L"CRAP"E. Ide run stock exhaust over theres and be much happier

CAMO I have Hedman header on mine. 4wheelparts was cheap if I remember corectly. Bought it 2 years ago and just got it on today finally.

Well I had the Muffler shop put a new Magnaflow cat and muffler on. He also installed my header and put all new pipes. 2 1/4" all the way out. Dumped the exht. just over the rear axle.

Has a whistle sound to it. Not sure if that is something common or not???

Other then that is sounds great. Also got my new rims and tires on went with ProComp Xterrains 33x12.50x15 with ProComp series 1079 rims 15x8

Get on a local wheeling board, or craigslist, or maybe find a swap meet in your area. Shouldn't be too hard to find a used header for cheap, paint it up and you wouldn't know the difference from new.

With the header new cat, muffler and 2 1/4 pipe, what kind of gains have you noticed ?.

Feels more responsive even with putting 33's on. I was running 31's so even with a bigger tire it feels good. They say they add 8-10 HP and with a motor thats stock about 116HP. Going with hot rod knowledge I know you need at least a 10% gain to notice. But all in all it sounds great and can feel a slight difference.
