Oh yea, i was thinking of it backwards.
I don't remember the name of the part but its in the center of the birf, it has a female spline gear that grabs the axle shaft. Is that put in in the right direction?

Vise grips. Channel locks. Pull the end of the axle out. Install snap ring.

Yeah theyre should be enough play in the axle to pull it out enough to get the snap ring on.. If not, there is something wrong somewhere.

X2. If that doesnt work on the end of some of the axle shafts there might be a threaded bolt hole that you could put a bolt in and get a grip on.

Also check to make sure you set the bearing preload properly. If the entire hub assembly doesnt go far enough on the spindle you wont be able to get to the groove to put that snap ring on.

Wab Fab has directions on how to set bearing preload on his website.

Thanks guys..... got the driver side on but not the right side.... wheeled it anyway without a problem. I have to pull it all back apart to put propped length wheel studs on so I will reload the bearings correctly. Thanks again!
