86 4runner shifting problem help

I need advice for fixing my 1986 4runner automatic, it's driving me nuts trying to figure out what the problem is. It's been having problems shifting, most of the time it doesn't want to shift out of first. It occasionally will shift, but only shortly before getting stuck in first gear again. I replaced the transmission solenoids, and the transmission shifts when it wants to. I checked the OBD1 error code, and it's giving me code 11. Even after replacing the ecu it's still giving me code 11 when checking the OBD1 error code. I think there may be a ground or a bad wire, but I don't know for sure how to check that. I've looked at many of the forum posts on this sight, but none of the solutions seem to help.

Has anybody had this problem, have a solution, or have some information that might help?

Changing a speed sensor on the transmission fixed the problem.
