85 power window gremlin!!

My 85 4x4 truck has a wierd power window problem. The pass. will roll down but not up (driver works). On both switches drive, pass. So I jumped the back of the pass. side switch and wham! the window went right up. Good we dont need a towel any more and bad cuase I had a $30 used motor in my hand.
I tried to clean the 2 switches with no luck, the switchs actully look nice when I took them apart. Any help whould be great. Brad

This happened to my 85 4runner also. I removed to switch and took it apart and bent the contacts back so that they were making positive contact with the switch. I found that after time the contacts lost their spring and no longer made proper contact and that it was a relatively easy repair. A switch was like 80 bucks used at the yota yard, they are hard to come buy. Good luck

For the record it was the relay. Thanks to this web site I was able to bypass the relay and test the motor. And son of a gun it went up and down! Thanks for the help. Brad
