'84 carbs
Hi guys. I just purchased an '84 pick-up with a 22r. It runs, but it needs carb work. Should I do a rebuild kit, or just trash it and go with the Weber? Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

proof:
32/36 Weber bought from WCD, yes it does have the black choke, no it's not made in spain:

Now, here is the kicker: WCD as well as some others (JT outfitters comes to mind) sells a WK746-34 34 DGEC-TOYOTA. which looks like this one:

In short, the "Weber" 34-34 is not a weber carb, it's a Solex carb. But don't dog WCD for selling them and state that they do not sell real weber carbs. Just don't buy the 34/34 carb from anywhere.

D'OH! I went with a 34/34 from WCD. It's not all bad. It has tons more power but runs like garbage. It hasn't been tuned for anything yet, however.
I say go weber. Polishing what has become a turd only yields a polished turd. I had no luck with going the rebuild route anyway.
