transmission

I have a 1982 Toyota pickup 4x4 and it shifts fine first through forth gear but when I try to put it in 5th it want go in, it doesn't grind or even feel like its wants to go in. Please try to help me solve thos issue

No its a five speed I'm sure of that I just wish I could fix this myself

Pop off the aluminum top cover and have a look at the forks, common wear item on the L series of trannys.

Yeah that's the thing...you might be able to see the shift forks/linkages, but unless you know what they should look like when they're working, I don't know how much you'll find. Still, it can't hurt! And it's easy to do.

Well thanks a lot I'm gonna see what I can do I'm decent with the engines but when it comes to the tranny its a whole new ball game but again thanks
