Your Trucks Top Speed

Like title says. I wanna know how fast my truck is compared to others. ie; 5 spd vs 4 spd, 3.90 vs 4.10. Mine with my 5 spd trans and 3.90 gearing and 31s with my old motor was 75 mph. New motor, dont know as I am babying it, but it was easily pulling 5th at 70. So lets hear em.

On my 82 fastest I ever had it going was I would guess 100mph but that was downhill. Flat I can max out the speedo which is 140 km/h. The motor had more power before I rebuilt it though. Didn't know that the engnbldr pistons lowered the compression slightly. Before rebuild I had close to 180psi compression on some and 165 on others but she was low on oil pressure and burning oil. After I have right on 160 across the board. Would have been a great powerful motor had a kept the original pistons but oh well. My diesel easily passes 85mph now. Just need to get the right tires and 100mph can be reached.

80 flat out 5th gear on level ground. 5th gear is worthless tho.

I cruise 65-70mph level or up hills in 4th.

stock 87 22r ... 4.10 ... 31" mudrovers

I've had it up to 80 MPH, it makes a VW bus look fast when it comes to getting there.

Good, so im not the only slow one. Do you guys also notice that its VERY hard to pull 5th. It seems like they just threw it in there to maintain a speed, or if you got wind behind you. Also What speeds can you guys attain in 4wd high? I could only pull 1st and 2nd gear with my old engine, this motor will pull 4th tho. This was in gravel, sand.

I usually drive out 10 mph over the limit, and then if a car passes me, I will follow it. Well, one time an Audi TT passed me and I sped up to 108 mph. He was still pullin' away, so I backed off.

When my truck was stock on the stock tires we got the speedo needle to hit the odometer button on flat ground... i can still get it to hit the 110 on 33x1250's and my speedo is down by 6mph... its something i really wouldnt recomend on that size tires...
