Ive had mine up to 147mph and climbing fast!

.

.

in my GTO! lol

In my 4Runner, 106mph on a downhill run, but on level ground around 100mph.

Of course all of those speeds were all in a very vivid dream I had.

I could run 90 in my 84 22R 5 speed. Could be why the motor didn't make it. In my daily driving 79' 20R 4Speed it will run 70 but I like babying it around 60-65. I want this truck to out live me. In luv with my 79'

86' p/u 22r auto stock w/ 14" rims xtracab long bed

i took an alternative route to work one day that included a mistaken exit on a turnpike 42 miles out of my effing way

well, needless to say i wasn't happy and was gonna be late for work, sooo going back on a 15 degreed slope, i looked down and the speedo read 102mph... backed her down because i wasn't liking the bad vibrations i got from the steering wheel (my gauge reader for too fast therr, bud)

I wonder why everyones top speed varies so much? Maybe some of us got tired engines. I finally tested my newer engine today. Its got 170 in 3 cylinders, and 155 in 4th. I hit 90 with about 1000 more to go in 5th, but it felt like it would have taken ages to get there, not to mention it felt like if I hit 1 lil bump I was gonna soar!

Island yota-- With 33's and factory 4.10 gears, you will be hard pressed to get to 65mph. Dont use 5th gear. I run the 82 4spd tranny, and if i had 5spd, i would run 5.71's for better bottom end. I also have a rebuilt 22r no mods, 4.88's, and 33's. With 4.10s- wouldnt clear 50mph, but now will go 75+. My fuel economy went from 15 to 22 on highway, and rpm is 3200 at 65mph. These motors get power from high rpm and get good fuel econ doing it. Fuel injected trucks do better with tall tires, but re-gearing is the way to go for power and mileage. m2cw.

Not a good thing when you're 50+ miles from anywhere.

Oh...88 longbed pickup 3.0 & 4.30's on 35's, got 'er up to ~95-100 mph on a looooooong downhill run, once or twice. I can run at 65-70 mph in 5th on flat ground, no wind.

I did it w/ 31's, 4.56's, 3vze, R150F, a light drizzle, a full tank of gas, and the parking brake on! (Notice the light)
