Trail gear ubolt flip kit

Hello, so I was wondering if these trail gear ubolt flip kit is right because the bolts look too big for the axle which is a rear 83 4wd and the kit say it's fits but I'm curious now that I seen it.(rear leaf springs are chevy 63's)

Sure you can, it's still their product you have a question about.

It might be okay, but it looks kinda sketchy to me.

Well I contacted trail gear tech and the guy said that those are the correct ubolts and they only have one size of u bolts. He said they are supposed to fit like that on the earlier models 79-83

Aren't U-bolts supposed to be pretty snug around the axle housing? Those look like they'll be snug on an 86-95 axle, which is thicker.

For that era truck you might be better off to make your own kit.

I would worry no matter how tight you have the u bolts the axle housing could move . Depending on use Not having first hand experience it is only a guess.

Anyone else have that kit on that era truck without issues??

One just has to love one size fits all !!!

I think you're missing some pieces.
IIRC U-bolt flip kits include weld-on tabs that help guide and stabilize the bolts.
