speakers for an 81?

I want to get some new speakers for my 81. I put a cheap radio in it from autozone so it wont be great..but 2 new speakers will be better than the single one I put in the dash. I haven't taken the door panels off yet to see if theres room or not. Where have yall mounted speakers in an 81 or the like, and what size did yall use? thanks

Thanks, I just found a pic on another thread where a guy had put 5 1/4 inch speakers in the lower door. That ought to work for me.

i have 6.5" speakers in my doors. find out the inner diameter of the speaker , and trace it out on the door. take a razor knife and cut out the panel and then cut the metal frame inside the door with a saw-zall. install the speakers and put in some metal "tek screws" with a drill to hold it in place. running the wires should be self explanatory. i dont know much about the pre-84 trucks, but the 86-95 trucks have a place for 2 small speakers in the dash (below steering wheel and beside glove box)

I was glad to see where someone mounted theirs. The cutting of the door wasn't a problem, figuring out what part of the door didn't have anything important in it that I would ruin while cutting was my real issue. thanks again everyone
