Remove 1st gen tie rod ends from knuckle

OK - so I've been trying the time honored smack the knuckle with a BFH while prying rod end downward with a long bar, but this time it ain't workin'. I'd really rather not use a pickle fork, and I dunno if I can get my hands on the proper puller. Suggestions?

forget the pry bar, and just smack the crap out of the knuckle with both hands on the BFH. works EVERY time. i use a 48oz sledge, and with both hands, i babe ruth tha crap out of it. maybe try a propane torch to heat it and a bunch of penetrating fluid.

I'm a cheap-assed bastard and don't feel like buying a new seal when the one that's on there is perfectly good.
BTW, I knocked the sucker outta the park, and off it came

Hey all, I'm going to bring this thread back up because I have a similar question.

Let's say, hypothetically, you used the pickle fork method and it all went wrong. You're shopping for new tie rod ends. What is the difference between these two and which would make a more suitable replacement?
