Black smoke... why? okay, since I rebuilt my motor again.... (machine shop fitted me with the piston for the shorter block, I was dumb enough to trust them and put them in) So now I put in some LCE recommended cp forged pistons, gaped my rings according to speck, however, they sold me the wrong carb, so holly recomended that I do a boost reference. ( changes vaccum to intake manifold.) so, the 82 22r supercharged w/ holly 500.... hooked up a af gauge and a o2 sensor... im reading in the optimal range... goes rich sometimes.... so black smoke is oil? any helps appreciated, cant be worse then whats got me here.
How many miles on the rebuild, as it may take up to 1000 miles for everything to settle in. You may have a combination of rings not seated and rich mixture. Drive it for 100 miles or so, then check the plugs and see what they tell you
Thx yall, had to jack up the back of my truck get my carb lvl set the float and leaned her way out.... no more black smoke... sweet.
Millage on rebuild is to the end of town and back 3 times, so 800ft times 6... almost a mile... gotta wait for a nice time with no traffic... dont wanna break down on the only road through town.
