here's the truck....

plans for 3-4" lift, locker out back, and once the 33's wear out (and its no longer on DD duties) it will get 34" LTBs.

Why do you guys cut the long beds

I love my long bed. I Just don't get that guys want to make a completley usable bed into something shorter. Please explain.

departure angle. That extremely usable bed is an anchor on the rocks. The angle from the end of the bed to the bottom of your tires is your departure angle. The longer the bed, the worse the departure angle.

Al--truck looks good. is the hood scoop functional?

You should try to make it out to the Oregon Yotatech Meet June 21st at Brown's Camp -- i want to go but got stuck working that weekend.

Maybe i will see you running your truck around town..

thanks guys! unfortunately the hood scoops aren't functional. at first i didn't like them, but now they are growing on me. my first thought after seeing the loooooong bed was to bob it but the girl said no. its going to be her trail rig anyway, so what she says go. i would like to keep it fairly original anyway (other than lift/locker/etc.), so bobbing just can't be done. i do want to do away with the stock rear bumper and have something built with a little more protection to the back side as it will really hang up everywhere. also a reciever hitch would be nice. but departure is worse than my SJ!

oc, thanks for the info on the meetup, i normally work saturday's but if my boss is in town i might be able to switch him for monday. i will be at browns this sunday with my 4wd group. i'm actually in beaverton, but feel free to wave/honk/flip-off if you see me, i'll gladly return the gesture!
