my trekker burnt .. OPTIMA battery fire .. battery was 4 years old !! happy fathers day to me !!!

That's awful Was it on a trickle charger? They make me nervous but I used one for months. I'm on my second Optima after the first went bad and they replaced it under warranty. I hope you have good insurance.

yep .. fire inspector said " because it was a small space , fire used up all the oxygen in the space , so it was a slow burn"
could have been much worse !

Sorry to hear about your truck...What caused the overheating of the battery? ... Was it just the outside ambient air temp being hot and the vehicle being in an enclosed hot storage unit? Was the battery being charged?....This is worrisome as a lot of are running this battery.

I don't know exactly what happened ? .. I only know what the "experts " have told me .
the OPTIMA red top was 100% to blame !
the white spots are the over heated spots
