Manual Locking Hub Question

The hubs on my '80 are "ASCO" brand. This is not a OEM hub correct? I thought "AISIN" was the only OEM hub that came on these trucks. I am basically just looking to see if anyone can verify this to me. If so, I will pull the AISIN hubs off of my '83 parts truck to replace the ASCO ones currently on it. (I am servicing the front axle on the '80 right now and want to go back as original as i can)

Thanks,
Stephen

I literally just got done reading your write-up on the 84-85 forums and read that.......So i guess these are the Original hubs. I guess ill be staying with the ASCO's. Thanks man!

ASCO = Aisin Seiki Corp.

ASCO hubs were used on 80-81 trucks so sticking with them is correct for the truck, and it appears they should be blue dial rather than red. parts are interchangeable with the AISINs if you're rebuilding.

They were originally a "Ford" blue from the ones I've seen.

Actually I believe the ASCO hubs were 79-80, not 80-81.

I bet you got ASCO dials off a SFA on IFS hub bodies.

So who knows when they actually found their way on my truck.

Are the AISIN/ ASCO hubs better than new WARN replacements or is there any difference at all?

Warn toyota replacement hubs do not have a good reputation. you are much better off with a set of stock Aisin hubs
