Lost power

Out playin today and hit a few nasty bumps, now it feels like I have no power when I press down on the gas. When I get on the road and get to going I can press down on the accelerator and the engine will rev up, feels like no power. Anyone had this happen to them?

I've got a 1979 Yota 20r with a 4 speed.

Not sure if it is related but also my 4th gear started grinding too.

Thanks

One more thing, I am putting 16" wheels on it and right now I've got 16's on the back with 265 75's on and 15's on the front with little tires.

Here's the bad setup. I'm waiting on my spacers to get here. I also got stuck here...
Long bed with a horrible low hanging bumper.

fuel filter!!! that just happened to me. i took my truck up to the moutain roads 20 miles from my house and came back to no power and a sputtering engine as if it wasnt getting enough gas or gas pressure. changed the fuel filter on my inline aftermarket fuel pump(such a good idea omg) and it runs like a top now.. especially now that i finally rebuilt my weber. good luck!

Anyone else have any ideas? Maybe a slipping clutch?

first thing that came to mind when reading your post was slipping clutch, especially after putting 16" wheels on the back (assuming you had larger diameter tires with them). You said you can get on the highway and push the accelerator down while in gear and the engine will rev up but wont go anywhere??? if thats the case, definitely a clutch, mine was doing the same thing the other day when i went to see if my 4wd worked, barely made it home. puttin a clutch in mine this weekend. and search the clutch threads before installing one...i did not, and i bought the lifetime warranty duralast clutch as opposed to a marlin or wabfab...do some readin up and make an educated decision based on that. Im gonna give the duralast a shot and see how it works.

I wonder if it could be a clutch fluid issue?

Not likely, if clutch hydraulics fail the clutch doesn't release from the flywheel. Sounds more like the springs in the pressure plate going bad, the friction plate being worn down, or oil getting on the friction plate. Not sure if water would make it slip if it got in the bellhousing while you were playing, but I s'pose it's a possibility.

Those are the first things that come to mind, hope that helps you.

I did run into some deep water, I'll have to check that out. Seems like when it warms up is starts doing it.

Ok I put my spacers and wheels on and went for a drive. All seems well now.
Here's what I think was happening.

A: the back wheels were rubbing on the inside causing it to act as a brake.
And
B: the rubber mat in the floor was bunched up behind the clutch causing me to not get it all the way to the floor.

Here it is now. Next is bobbing the bed and putting in floor patches.
