couple of Questions. need advice.

So ive been on here quite a bit, site is pretty sweet. my truck is slowly coming along with my 200-300 a month government vet check. semper fi lol.
Anyways My brakes act up every now and again I belive its just one side the passenger side, And it locking up bad to the point where I have to put it in first to go forward, and the brake petal feels hard as heck to move but spongey I guess. after a bit it frees up on its own. So any ideas on that? also what size is the rear brake bleeders? anyone know I replaced the front ones. And on engine start up it dies unless if I leave the truck, adjust the fast idle or the regualr ldle? Any spots in the engine bay that anyone has put a second battery? if so would you recomennd the painless kit or make ur own?
thanks all for the help

I just rebuilt them... my father was sayin it was the portaining valve in the back.. but I guess I can tear them apart again and run a dremal sander on it.

I think you mean proportioning valve which controls the front to rear brake bias. I don't think that would cause the symptoms you mentioned, but I could be mistaken.

My right front caliper also had a piston that got stuck and caused brake drag. I picked up a rebuild kit from a local auto store for $10.00 a caliper and remove d the pistons and cleaned the bores out with a toothbrush and brake fluid. I found the assembly grease gets quite thick and turns almost like a glue over long period of time. Emery cloth was used for the few areas of light rust in the bore. Use air to blow out all passages then reseal and install pads. Easy job.
