Cool 82 wiring-20r

a hybrid project..almost complete!
super clean 82 cab and bobbed bed..
on my slightly mod'd 79 1st gen chassis, with a de-smogged 20R in it.

interior is wired right: headlights, dash lights, signals, dome light, windshield wipers work good..everythings operational.

motor turns over but wont start/fire..not sure about wiring to alternator/distributor/ coil etc..

most plugs are different out of the 82 harness to '79 20R motor..specificly from coil and igniter. anyone have any ideas on hard wiring? to see if i can get spark??

i just put an '81 cab on my '79, and ran into the same wiring problems. basicly i used everything from a post '81 to solve the problems, coil, distributor, and alternator. the only things i had to hard wire the headlights and the soleniod on the carb

yea, i think in 81 they changed harnesses. one thing to watch for is the alternator, they changed the order of the 3-prong plug several times, try and find one from the same year as your harness

I was told by Toyota that for my 1983 pickup, the only ignitors that will work are from like 6/82-8/83 or something stupid like that, so...if they know what they're talking about, some of that stuff may be very year specific.
