79-83 Window Regulator. . . ?

I was wondering if anyone new if there was a window regulator for 1979-83 trucks that have the vent window? I haven't been able to find one online. Will the normal non-vent regulator work with some minor mods? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I really need the drivers side, the gears are starting to strip, and window will not roll all the way up sometimes.

Yes. It will work with mods. You will need to swap out the glass support rail and remove the extra two arms from the main arm by drilling out the pins and welds.

Also, the driver and passenger side window regulator for 79-83 trucks with vent windows are the same. They are just mounted differently, upside down from each other.

I take this back! They are NOT the same! The gear spacing different, and the gear will hit the vent window support bracket.

I am not so confident anymore. Sorry. I guess I jumped the gun. Trying to actually do this. The glass support rail looks a bit challenging now.

I am installing new manual regulators in my '83 pickup with vent windows. Is there a trick to getting the regulator to roll the window all the way down? The regulator seems to only want to roll down to the point that the arm is horizontal which only takes the window half way down.

If you have the correct one, it should roll all way down. No trick. You probably have the wrong one. Left and right look very much a like, but the gears are actually welded to the arm at different distances... basically mirror images. And of course, if you have the window regulator for a full window without the vent, it wont work.

Yeh, I got them for both sides left and right and made sure I got the one for the window with vent. I do see that Toyota Pickup models change in '83. So maybe I got the wrong half of the year? All the research I have done shows the same regulator. I am at a loss.
