Important bit of information missing, 4x4 or 2wd?
If 4x4 your likely "L" series 4 speed trans is direct swap for L50 and L52 5 speeds.
W, G, and R series 5 speeds are longer and will require moving the crossmember back.

Best resource in my opinion:
Rebuilt Manual Transmission | Marlin Crawler, Inc.
Note, just because it says X trans for years A-B doesn't mean that's what's in there now if a previous owner slapped something else in. Dimensions and distinguishing features for the trans are on Marlin's site as well.

If it has a 4 speed, 4x4 transmission, it's pretty much for sure a L45. I am not aware of any 4 speed 4x4 transmissions in later vintage Toyotas.
As said above, L series will drop right in, all others will require moving the crossmember back and probable driveline modifications.

You likely had a L52 original that was swapped by a previous owner for the 4 speed (probably because cheap). The door plate can be decoded to find what your original factory equipment was. My 81 supposedly came with a L52 (which supposedly wasn't available yet?? but there's a thread where others had this same thing)
Ebay and local auto wreakers/salvage yards are your likely only options for this vintage trans. Post about your approximate location and someone on here might have a good semi local place that specializes in Toyota parts.
