1977 garage kept long bed 2wd

So my grandpa passed away and I inherited his 77 2wd long bed. So far I've rebuilt carb, changed fuel pump, cpl vacuum lines, both rear wheel cylinders, and bled brakes. She's been garage kept her whole life, but sat for the past 3 yrs since he was bedridden. I got to remove the roof rack and clean her up real good. I'm going to drive it for about 500 miles then do all the fluids. I can't seem to upload photos from my phone... Either way I'm hoping to find some help on a few things on here.

What photo hosting site are you using? photobucket is pretty dependable. Easy to get the image URLs from there, and I haven't lost any, for years.

Nice "find". That truck is clean!

kind of a noob question, and this is probably not the right section. (the search tool is really poorly built)
where can i find technical specs on this model year of pickup?

specifically, oil. noone can tell me how much damn oil to put in it! *rage*

Nice interior! You have the same Nippondenso air conditioner hanging below the dash that my dad's '73 red Corolla had.

3.9 quarts of oil!

Until you know exactly how much oil to use, you can pour 3 and a half in and drive it. Then park on level ground and check the dipstick. Top off as needed and next time you change it you can confidently add the total right away.

3.9 might be perfect, but there are differences due to your specific engine block, dings in the oil pan, etc.

3.5 is enough to protect the engine while you warm it up and fill all the gaps in the engine.

Lastly, just because you have not driven 2500 or 3000 miles does NOT mean your engine hasn't lost oil. Check it periodically until you become familiar with your engine's loss rate. Some lose almost nothing, others lose a half a quart by the time you change it (or more). Keep an eye on it until you know.

Use your dipstick!

BY THE WAY. Stop taking pictures to post in PORTRAIT format. Hold the camera in LANDSCAPE format. It is hard to look at your photos!

yep, did the oil change. using my dipstick and very carefully gauging it, ended up somewhere around 3.7 -3.9 ish, keeping that 5 quart jug in the back of the truck now.

it does lose some, its got a teensy oil leak around the timing cover that i haven’t had time to seal up yet. (its right around where it meets the valve cover)

anyhow, running like a champ!

also, starting up a site soon for maintenance docs and tips and such on these older yota pickups, due to it being teeth pull madness trying to find this stuff. maybe i can prevent other peoples headaches. will link here when i do it
