Yep ..

although NOT factory .. (1st wolverine conversion) they had dana axles , and a 2wd frame .. not overly tough !

 

Toyota did not build small 4x4 trucks until '79. Anything before that is a conversion. I have a seen a few of them around. I knew a guy that had a custom 4x4 hilux with a step side bed and a performance 20R. It looked really cool and I was told it was fast because it was so light. I am not sure who did the conversion.
