I'm looking for some kind of cloth case that allows me to organize all my sockets, wrenches, etc.
I've seen molded plastic 'kit' cases, but none that have all the socket sizes, ratchets, etc that I need...
Right now I have all my sockets dumped into a ziplock that is stored in a canvas toolbag. It makes finding the right size socket quickly a pain.

get those cheap rails that the sockets snap into, at sears or somewhere, can get plastic ones, metal ones, really nice one, inexpensive ones, and then buy a cloth tool bag from there also, or wait for them to go on sale for 9.99 from 19.99 cuz they do a lot

I carry all my tools in a box.

I do need to get a metric socket set, and will store the whole case in the middle drawer.
From when it was in the 4Runner.

I have a toolbox on my truck, so I throw all my sockets and stuff that I have on rails into it along with the wrenches andother gear. Anything else that dont fit just goes in the box in a large box I made.

Check out this cargo/tool box in an FJ.
Mine is envious of it.

I have Big Mouth bags and a Craftsman box.
For the sockets, use the little rails from Sears with the plastic nubs to hold them on. The metal ones worked well in my box that stays at home but would always shake loose on the trail.
For the rest, I have wrench rolls, the ones with a bunch of pockets in a row.
I find the biggest deal is keeping stuff ordered and easy to get to, otherwise it does no good to have a tool if you can't find it.

I welded up a frame for my Craftsman toolbox and bolted it behind the rear wheelwell. I'll try to post some pics tonight. This holds more than I need in terms of tools and isn't at all annoying while wheelin'.
