Lawton & Rush Twp. PA back roads
Just a short trip that I thought I would take some photos of some low maintenance roads here in PA on the way to some family members place.
All of these roads are semi plowed and cindered, no salt. All of these roads are dirt roads underneath, no paved. Which is why there is no road salt dropped as a lot of these roads are farm roads.
Many are either winding roads or big hills. I tried my best to get the aspect of the severity of the turns and hills, but as you know it's kinda hard to do in pics.
I did manage to get myself somewhat stuck when pulling off the side to lock my hubs. Did not notice it was a ditch I was in lol. oh well. No photo of the ditch but I did at the end get some photos of the snow packed in my wheels that were on that side.
I'd say from the main road it's about 3-4 miles in on these roads.

I spent most of the time either in 1st or 2nd and 4lo. Those roads are tricky. 1 false move and your either in a ditch or down an embankment and into a tree. Sketchy cell phone service and not many houses either.
My poor 5 year old daughter was scared to death right from the get go when I got semi stuck. haha.

out here, with the same kinda roads, a few inches too far to let someone come the other way and you are in the ditch. i have countless dinks and scratches on the passenger's side of my truck from "allowing" enough room to not get hit head-on and instead getting hit by branches and stuff.

It never ceases to amaze me how fast a little bit of snow/ice on an otherwise good road can throw you into the ditch if you aren't careful, learned that here a few weeks ago when I went to make an adjustment on a straight road and screwed it up. Had to lock it in and rock it just to get back on top.
I'll take rocks and mud any day of the week over snow and ice.

Nice XXX Looks just like home to me!

Now this looks just like what I see driving. Snowy road, inspection sticker coming off, wondering what a-hole is going to be coming the other way too fast in a damn mini-van.

haha yeah, PA had "issues" with a batch of inspection stickers that didn't want to stay on. Normally you would get pulled over for that, but until all of those stickers expires well, it's free game as long as it's still on there.
