Devil's Canyon, Queen Creek - May 2005

This was a really great trip that we did earlier this year, and I am just now getting the photo gallery posted. We went into an area of central Arizona with some spectacular desert scenery and did some great 4wd trails, camping, and rock climbing (and I did some hiking too). Thanks to Expeditions West for the awesome dinner we had one evening.

Thanks guys Bagger, yea, the "FABLD8" is a cool machine with humble beginnings. Kyle did a really nice job with it. Since his website has been updated, he has added more stuff including fuel injection.

94-RUNNER, you 4runner seems like a super nice machine. Do you have an owner's page here or a thread with some more pics?

No , neither at the time. I have tons of pic's from trips we have taken I guess that I need to get my butt in gear and put them on my webshots file. I will do so and email you and let you know . Thanks for the interest.
We really love the set up we have and it's works very well for our trips up into the North Maine Woods. The only other real usable thing that we want to add is on-board hot water system. That's just gonna take some time as that takes mucho extra money that just isn't quite there right now. If you ever got to this end of the world that would be a great place to visit. Not much in the way of heavy duty rock crawling but for the East Coast it is the only real wilderness left to see and enjoy.

A quick and easy set-up I've seen on a couple vehicles for hot water is a length of black PVC tube mounted on the roof rack. Just cap both ends and drill two holes, one for a spigot and one for a fill cap. You can judge how much water (and more importantly weight) you want that high in the vehicle, but on a sunny day of wheelin you usually have nice warm water when you stop. Depends a lot on outside temps and the amount of sun, but it's cheap and works OK for the most part. Another interesting one is the newish on-demand unit from Coleman that runs off a disposable propane can.

Also thanks for the link, we moved here from Maine about a year ago and do miss some aspects, although WA has it's own charms.

Sorry about the hijack Chris, nice pics BTW. Hopefully I'll see my own truck in some of your trip pics at some point.

Hey Greg, thanks. Did you get that email I sent? I couldn't get that GPS file conversion to work. But I suggested a different format that might do the trick.
