Death Valley Pics

I have a selection of the photos I took, while with the group on Monday morning. We went up to Augerberry Point, and recharged a Nissan.

Jack was cute.

Jack is checking his dad's tow hook. Making sure it is still tight.

The view from the top of Augerberry Point, is awsome.

On the way out, Lance's tire picked up a mouth full of worms.

Actually the tire found a sharp rock (very common), and those worms are an attempt to plug the hole. It was a valient effort; but didn't work. The tire had to be changed. That was an adventure of its own.

More pictures, next week. We had a great time. Thanks guys.

My friends saw a bunch of you guys in Goler Wash going through the pass.... They were in a blue Montero loaded up with 4 people.
I remember seeing that Montero. It passed by Stella's cabin while I was waiting (with my dead vehicle) for the rest of the group to catch up.

Excellent write-up, Scott! It captured the experience just as I remembered it, that is, up until we split off from you on the last day.

We've got to start planning our next trip (not to Death Valley, though!)

Someday I'll make it pretty, and incorporate pictures and all, but for now, I just wanted to get it all down.

Unfortunately, it doesn't contain the potato recipe. You'll have to ask Audrey for that!
Nice writeup! Do you mind if I snag some of your pics of my rig from your photos to add to my pics? Thanks

Not at all. If ya tell me which ones you want, I'll grab the full resolution ones from my 'puter. (Goes for anyone else too, of course)

Scott, thanks! I think I was able to get a decent size from your website. I went to the fullsize version and saved it from there. I will see when I print it, but I don't plan on making a poster so it should be fine. Let me know if you want the fullsize ones of you going down the overlook.

Chris,
Glad you like it. Go ahead and use it for your avitar.

I could have some nice prints made up for you, at cost. Should be able to print up to 30"x40". Almost life size. :-)

Better late than never, right?

PHOTOALBUM LINK. I recommend using the slideshow feature on the top banner.

Please note that I combined photos from several sources. If I missed a photo credit, just let me know.

Ken, nice slideshow!

Brian, I will contact you soon about ordering some prints. I don't think I will need a poster, if I had a free spot on the garage wall it would look pretty cool though.

Thanks! I learned that I can geocode the photos in Google Picasa (the web album you were viewing), so hopefully I can find some time to do that soon. This way you'll see on a Google map (or Google Earth )where in Death Valley each photo was taken.

How have you been doing since the DV trip?
I have been working over our photos from the week we were there. I am almost ready for a top quality slide show.

Any chance you could share your GPS coordinates with me? I'm planning a Death Valley trip for a whole bunch of people in October, and I have no idea where we're going.
