Apache Trail - Az

Once again it was an awesome weekend here in Az. I was looking for a nice, easy, scenic and relaxing trail to take some friends from out of town to and we wound up on the Apache Trail.

The trail starts out near a fully functioning ghost town called Goldfield. all the structures are origional except for the church. It was cool, they had people dressed up and acting out life in the mining town with gold panning in the river and gun fights in the middle of town. There was a car graveyard there too with some vehicles from the early 1900's when cars had the had cranks under the radiators.

The trail end's near what is called the Tonto National Forest Monument. The monument is an indian dwelling up in the cliffs of a mountain. We were able to hike up to it and look around inside. There was a park ranger up there telling us everything we ever needed to know about life 1300 years ago... Interesting to say the least.

Enjoy!

First time visiting some friends in Mesa they took me up to Roosevelt lake and we came back down the Apache Trail. After a long day we stopped in Goldfield Saloon Missed out on the cliff dwellings, got there a little too late
