ARB compressor mounting

ARB compressor mounting
I've got an ARB to instal, planning on putting it in the rear axle. The instructions say for a single ARB locker mount the compressor within 4' of the locker, its the compact compressor so won't air tires with it. Where have you guys mounted your compressor? Any one had issues mounting compressor more than 4' from the locker?

I think it would be better to keep the wire to it short - even the compact one pulls a fair amount of juice. One thing to keep in mind FOR SURE is that the intake will be protected from water.

Like TC stated, it's probably better to keep the power lead as short as possible.
It may take it just a fraction of a second longer to actuate, but I would think that a longer lead hose from the compressor to the Diff would create a "larger reservoir" of air to keep the unit engaged.
Personally, I'm planning on installing an air tank to go with an ARB, when I finally get to that point. That way the compressor only has to keep the tank pressurized and not keep kicking on and off. . .
Good Luck with it!

ya i dont really have a heat issue there due to only needing to run the compressor for 15min once in the whole day to fill the tank. Any way the compressor dose not seem to heat up the surrounding area but your compressor is different

If you can get your pneumatics leak free it shouldn't have to cycle.
Mine does have some leaks so it runs for about 3 secs every 15 minutes.
It leaks from the top of the pressure switch when I sprayed it with soapy water that's where the bubbles formed.

I mounted mine on a sheet of Delrin and used silicone rubber bumpers for vibration management and hold it in place:
Installed in the driver side storage compartment. Since it's not permanently installed it only takes a few minutes to take it out and put it back in.
I left space on the filter end of the compressor in case I needed to install a pc chassis fan, but the compressor only engages the lockers so it only comes on for a few seconds. I put a locker up front since the photos, so now I've got both solenoids and lines installed and it still doesn't produce any heat to speak of.
