Im considering doing this myself, at least until I get new bumpers. Im not sure if i like how it has that shiny looking finish, but I do like the idea of using something more durable than spray paint . I guess i could paint over it if I wanted.
How much did this end up costing you? how long did it take?
it looks like you did a nice job on it

im not doin the front cuz im gettin the tjm t-15, it should be here in a couple days, ordered it about a week ago
i haven't gotten the enamel yet b/c i want a flat one, not glossy, but it's actually not shiny at all in person, i might end up just leavin it like it is if i can't find a clear flat enamel coating, but im sure there's one at sherwin williams or somethin, they just didn't have it at lowe's
jarboarder- yeah im not too crazy about the shiny but it's really not like that in person, if i get a flat enamel coating it won't shine,
the herculiner was 30 bucks (one pint not the gallon) and everything else i used i had at home, a sander w/ 40 grit(you have to use a coarse grit b/c it's chrome)
it took me about....2-3 hours, the thing that takes the longest is the sanding, i was pretty meticulous about the sanding so it took longer than it should of, i just wanted to be sure i sanded everything good so it would hold really well, it's really only maybe 1 hour of work, the rest is waiting for it to dry so you can put another coat on, i did 3 coats
when roorunner did it he didn't take his bumper off and i can't imagine doing it that way, it was really easy to work with w/ the bumper off, takin it off took about 15-30 min(i think you need 7/16 or 15mm if i remember right)
all in all pretty easy job, email me or pm me and i'll send you what roorunner emailed me about it, im sure he doesn't want to type it up again
if you want to see the progression its on my profile
weston-we should do a write up on this so people who want to do it in the future have somethin to look for
