4HI pulling to the left

When I put my truck into 4hi, it seems to be pulling to the left.... front alignment issue or what?

Theres nothing to bind if your going straight.

I've never driven a 4x4 that pulls to either side while going straight in 4wd.

Sounds like something is dragging, maybe in the hubs or the axles.

well...

the pulling to the left seems to be coming from the front, not the rear... like, it feels like you are in a badly aligned FWD honda or something. besides axles, what could be dragging or causing it otherwise?

Have you checked your front tire pressure lately?

Check your tires. If all four tires are not properly inflated and worn evenly then 4HI will not be pleasant on the road. If you have one tire that is worn more than the others on a corner of the vehicle then it will not track straight. Same goes for uneven tire pressure. This occurs due to the different radius of the tire where it makes contact with the ground. If you think it is bad driving around in 4WD with open diffs (assuming you have open diffs), try rolling around with lockers front and rear. There is no room for tire size difference or the steering wheel will fight you to your inevitable death.
