Power Antenna RELAY
Does anybody know the location of the Power Antenna Relay on a 1995 4-runner.
My 1995 does not have a power Antenna but the 2 pin harness plug is present for one in the wheelwell. I took the factory power antenna out of my 1994 4-runner to see if it would work and it does not. There is no power to the plug in the wheelwell. I have researched all over and the wiring diagram in the chiltons book does not mention it. It does however mention to check the RELAY.
I have tried to follow the wires in both my 4-runners and I have no ides where the relay may be.
Please help, I have done a lot of serching and unfortunately there does not seem to be too much info on this topic.
Does not make sense for the chiltons book to mention the relay and then not give a clue to its location.

Not sure on the 2nd gens, but my 1st gen ('85) has no relay. At the antenna connector are two wires that hook to the motor. The wires come directly from the switch. Switch in the center position, no power to either wire. Hold the switch one way you get +12V/Gnd on the 2 wires, push the switch the other way and you get Gnd/+12V.

You probably don't have a relay since your rig didn't come with an automatic antenna.
Just for your info, the location of the relay should be somewhere above the steering column behind the instrument cluster.
The reason I know this is because my 91 4Runner SR5 didn't come with the automatic antenna (even though the Toyota Brochure stated that the SR5 package comes with one) and I had to buy one from the dealer. Well, it turned out that unbeknownst to me that I needed the relay too (another $145 for the part) at which time I turned my wife loose on them. She complained to the service manager and they gave her the relay. Since I didn't have the FSM, I spent about 5 hours trying to figure out where the thing plugged into, and finally located it around 3 am.

Thanks guys for all the help!
The relay IS above the clutch pedal and near the base of the column. My relay (94 runner) is orange or atleast has an orange shell.
I put the relay from the 94 to the 95 and the antenna fired right up. The harness plug for it (in the 95) was factory taped and tucked up in the dash.
I hope to be able to help you all with some of your future troubleshooting.

I can not find the relay switch in my 2000 4runner. It's an auto and I've looked under the dash where the clutch pivot would be and see pleny of wires, but nothing that I can identify to be the relay switch. Anyone have a picture of this? I'm trying to locate the wire that provides power to the antenna motor so I can disconnect this and not hear the grinding noise anymore. I'm considering doingthe antenna mod, but for now just want to stop the grinding sound.
