Welcome, just to let you know, it's a requirement on YT to post pictures of yourself before making a thread. Jokes aside, we'll need some more specifics.

Few things......

WELCOME TO YOTATECH!!!

Get a PHOTOBUCKET account, makes it easy to post pics (I had tough time with that at 1st, but it's super easy)

On your "USER CP" (top left side of titles at top of this and all pages) create a signature that will appear at the bottom of all your posts. State the year and engine of your vehicle and brag a little about mods / mileage and whatever.

Lurk around...watch the NEW POSTS and see if it's something you need.

Searching.......that's tough and I have yet to perfect it, my favorite way to do it is go to GOOGLE and type in what you want and then just add the word YOTATECH at the end and it USUALLY gives the best and most pertinent stuff. Some of the threads on here wander a bit (or ,like mine, wander alot) so you may have to page through them to get what you need.

In the less than 1 year I've been here, I've spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME (ask my wife) clicking around on YOTATECH, but it's always good and there is a great supply of people who have either done what you want to do ,are planning the same thing or just know the answers. Sometimes you will get barked at if you don't make an effort to search 1st, but it's all good.

Now tell us about you.

Any questions, ask.....YOTATECH is open 24/7 and operators are standing by (hahaha).

That's a understatement it's like watching a super slow moving train wreck and as you can see a lot of sarcasm but it's all in good fun

hey guys thanks for all your help. I posted a pic of my truck, but thats not the only one that I am working on. My boyfriend has a 22r out of a 86 xtra cab long bed. We switched the 20R head from his on to mine and we noticed alot of wear and tear on the cylinders so we are going to rebuild it. We aren't sure what all will have to be replaced, but we want to make this one a beefy type of motor. Wonder if we could get a few tips on what motor and what internals will make for the best beefy toyota motor. Thanks

There are good vendors on here, good people to buy from. Upgrade the head and cam, help it breath. Nice to see another Texan jump on board

Welcome to Yotatech!
20r huh? Slow as a Slug, but as reliable as a mule.
Anything you need to know can be found right here on probably one of the best support sites ever created, no joke, try saying that about Pirate4x4.com

your FSM you should get to know it and where it is if you don't already!
http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1990-1995...5/contents.htm

reality is especially where you are you may be able to get a used low milage engine and just swap not sure exactly what your budget is but if you search import toyota engines on google you can look around and see what you are looking for.

You should try being a mechanic, the things people don't know about there cars will amaze you. I fixed the brakes on a Ford Ranger, the kid driving it said his rear brakes weren't working, even though he put new shoes on, I took off the drum and relized that his auto adjuster was frozen all the way out. This means that he was driving with something equivalent to his parking brake being on for around 6,000 miles.

As the other guys said, Welcome to Yotatech! I'm a little new here my self, but still. also reiterated, nice to see another Texan. As for engines, I really like my 3.0vze if you are looking to do a swap. It's got a ton of torque for a v6, and mine has almost 370k on it, so pretty reliable. Some of the guys on here have also said that the 3.4 is a good engine, but I haven't had any experience with it. Good luck!!
