Im about to do a trail gear sas, and just realized I haven't thought about the sway bar at all. This is going to be on the road a bunch between trails...takin er out for a month on the road from kings canyon/yosemite/mamouth/oregon...and who knows. So I really would like to set up a swaybar disconnect or something, but I dont remember seeing anything like that, or swaybar at all on any of the SAS's ive checked out.

anybody have any info on this

im going with a 4 inch lift & 35's plus tons of other cool stuff...dual arbs 5;29's, skyman bumper with winch, rails, new chromoly axles front rear, dual bat, & brand new dual load oversized lazer polished muffler bearings...

and wont I be rockin the boat if I have to swerve at high speeds without a sway bar. my buddy had a solid axle jeep with disconnects that was super sketchy on the freeway when not hooked up.

you might could try getting some universal currie antirocks to fit (http://www.currieenterprises.com/CESTORE/antirock.aspx). Otherwise, yotas are light enough that with some good shocks (trail gear kit comes with bilstiens so you will be fine there) you should be fine.

I wouldn't worry much about the front sway bar. It's fairly important with IFS considering how the suspension geometry changes during cornering, but with a solid axle, the camber and caster don't change when the body leans like they do with IFS, thus making the sway bar mostly unnecessary.
The rear on the other hand... from what I've read, 2nd gen 4Runner's are fairly heavy out back and considering they have coils (vs. leafs on the 1st gens) which have different spring rates, the rear swaybar makes the vehicle a lot more stable, at least on the highway. Don't quote me though, I'm only paraphrasing what I've read and I have a 1st gen so can't say with authority.
