Speedi-sleeve
Just changed the timing chain, and the new seal on the crank came with a "speedi-sleeve" but it leaks like crazy. it started as a weep, and the "speedi-sleeve" backed off and turned to a good pour at idle. any ways to eliminate that from happening with the new sleeve?

the sleeve shouldn't cause a leak- as mentioned, they are a pretty tight fit on the crank pulley and don't easily back off, and loctite should hold it in place.
The seal is sized to fit the sleeve so that shouldn't be a problem. One thing I wonder is if the spring in the seal may have popped off when the pulley was installed or if the timing cover may not be properly aligned.

Thank you everyone for your input. It turns out, defective sleeve from Felpro, which is surprising. It came with the entire kit, and the seal and sleeve were slightly bigger than the correct one, and when compared to the old stretched out seal, it looked right... Problem solved, 2 seals and 4 quarts of oil later, we're good to go! Thanks again!
