Not that it takes me forever to accomplish things these days

Yes it's got a bit of a lean at the moment (doesn't like the weight of the small spare), using the factory bumper mounts still - not nearly adequate I knew, but still good for mock-up. Should have 3" channel in off the frame like my old bumper soon enough.

So how did you have your snorkel hooked up on your old rig? Pics maybe? Did it work well? Am I asking too many questions?

Snorkel pics are found: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f31/...04/index3.html

Worked really well, I'm not a fan of the big "up the a-pillar" snorkels, and honestly if it got up over to that height, I'd be needing a snorkel for me However it is high enough that those occasions you're dropping the nose into the creek/hole you don't swamp the intake - and that was my major design concideration.

Nice, what I was thinking about is twisting the stock intake hose that comes out of the filter box up towards the hood so I have a bit more water protection. I don't really want to cut into anything on my 4runner cause it's in to good of condition to do so right now. May have to figure something out so I can keep it kind of hidden from view.

Well... Guess the old 22re wasn't in as good shape as I hoped...

Started running rough last week, ended up pulling the oil control ring out of the #3 sparkplug... Never a good sign... Then the cooling system started getting stupid pressurized... Knock started, pretty sure I lost #4 today; and promptly started overheating...

Looks like we's gonna start a vw diesel swap in the very near future

This thread goes on hiatus for a while... Guess I should retitle it - as I'm now going beyond the old 88...

The VW diesel conversion begins:
