engine from hell!!!

ok i have a 22re that wont work right at all.

heres the story.back in 2010 i rebuilt the engine top too bottom. first issue i had was the oil pump didn't prime correctly, and fried the main bearings. replaced those. then got the engine reinstalled and able too run again. had a similar issue w pump not priming. replaced oil pump again. repacked and installed. still didn't work till i used a had pump too fill journals w/oil and ran engine.and pressure was good. then i got too the point where i wanted too change out the oil because of eny break-in junk in the oil. after draining and replacing engine oil couldn't get oil pressure too go up at all again.!!! got the truck home and let it sit 4 a while. decided too replace the oil pump and try again. still wouldn't get oil pressure correctly. let the truck sit for a year or more and went off too school too become a marine technician. then came home and had a little more understanding on how this damn engine works. got the engine up off the engine mounts w/ hoist too check the pickup tube and or galley plugs. all good, replaced the pickup tube w/new 1 for good measure. and took off the oil pump and primed it w/thick oil additive (power punch). started engine. had oil pressure- good oil pressure. parked it and and restarted it again. nothing, got pissed and took off oil pump and found front timing chain cover had score marks around where oil pump gears touch aluminum cover. replaced it + new gasketrey 4 all front accessories on engine. re packed pump (that looked good and not worn at all.) with power punch. started engine. had good pressure again. so turned engine off and restarted it. no pressure AGAIN!!! so took some time and thought about what the hell it might be. and decided too take off the head and check it. found that bolts too front cam bearing cap were stripped and not holding cap down (figured that had too be the issue right?) well got new head + gasket and rocker arm assembly just cuz well why not??? plus fancy oil that has zink and ˟˟˟˟ in it for racing/break-in. installed it all and got engine too the pint where she should run. and fired it up..... no FRICKIN DAM OIL PRESSURE!!!!!!!!!! i can fix an broke boat+/engine 4 it but no a damn 22re toyota engine that is as old as me!!! so im lost the only other idea i have is too get to where i can get too the crank and check if its screwed up or what...

On the bottom of the block underneath the oil pan there is a plug that needs to be in the block. It is an allen/hex head plug. Without that there, it WILL not build pressure. My buddy (kornhuskerwizard) told me he had troubles with not building oil pressure and tore the block back down only to find the plug was not there. There is also another one behind the timing cover.

Sometimes these things can get removed during machining and forgot about. I hope this helps.

^ x2 on the plug. It is located on the passenger side of the block near the #3 crank journal. Just drop the oil pan and you should see it (or not see it)

If all else fails, drop an Envinrude in that beast! LOL

Here's a picture of it for you. You can see it just northeast of the middle bearing cap.
