Try putting longtubes on an LS-1 Camaro.. then we'll talk about "tight space"

I like my Magnaflow, i dont get what you guys are talkn about ricy crap

I got a friend who has a Flowmaster and a header and it does sound like some big engine but im not a poser, I think it's stupid to make a small engine sound like a Chevy 350. I dunno just defeats having a small toyota to me.

My exhaust is quiet with low growl and I've gotten lots of compliments on. The stock exhaust and generic muffler on our 2wd yoter sounds cheap as it was.. compared to a more smooth mellow i get out of my truck.

Im not running a header tho and those change the sound alot.

i feel the same way. i was told the longer body would quiet it down which is why i went with the 18" body. maybe just maybe the sound will change as i put a few more miles on it.

You might pick up a bit more power as the ecu adapts to increased air flow also. FWIW the LCE headers should give you more top end power but you'll lose some low end which is likely what you've experienced.

Have you done any intake mods to help with breathing? If not you should as that will help your new exhaust move air. Might think about a cam too, then you'll have a decent package.

I've got a magnaflow 2.25 with 2.25" pipe and it sounds great.

no. intake is all original except for a k&n filter (no difference at all)

Last exhaust that my local place did me was $150. 2.5" piping from the cat with a glass pack and turn down.

Try shopping around or even put the header on yourself to save some money.

i know very little about exhaust work, but don't they usually weld the tubing to the muffler? these guys just used clamps...

edit: actually there is a tackweld on either side. i guess that's all it needs?

Damn..My exhaust was $200 from the header back. I installed the header and drove it down to the shop open. I supplied the cat and muffler, And they ran the pipe and split it out to duals with tips. And mines fully welded, I dont use shops who clamp it all

I got a flowmaster 50 series and full cat back exhaust dont today for 135.00 even. And it is completely welded. I would think there would be some exhaoust bleed on the clamps though? Thats weird? you smell it in the cab?

I also got a catback done at a local shop that included a 14" Magnaflow for $130... You got screwed.

Btw, pull the EFI fuse for a few seconds and put it back in. The engine is breathing better now and needs to reset to richen up a little. Once it richens up the exhaust tone will drop a little.

Also Magnaflows need to break in. The sound will change for about a month then it settles down. I wasn't happy with my 14" at all when I got it done. I had requested an 18" but they put in a 14" and told me it was an 18". After I've gotten used to it and it broke in I love it.

Give it some time.
