95 4runner blower not working properly??
I recently bought a 95 4runner. The A/C works on low only. When I swithch to a higher fan mode, nothing happens. The system shuts off. Is this a common problem? The A/C and heater only work on low. So, on HOT days, I have to keep the A/C on low to keep the runner somewhat cool inside. It blows cold air, just not ENOUGH!!!

It's either the resistor or fan switch. If it's the switch it usually will not operate smoothly thru its range, if it's the resistor this will help. http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/Blower.shtml

Depends on which part of the resistor pack goes - NORMALLY you only have high, but if any of the segments goes you'll lose that "zone". They're easy and cheap to replace, be sure to check it out.

Thanks, I will check the resistor out. Is it located on the firewall as described in the other thread?

Definitely check the resister. It sounds to me like you have the exact same problem I had on my F-150. It isn't a Yota, but I am sure they are built the same way.
The replacement resister was a cheap and easy fix....much better then living with only low. Wait till you need your defroster and you only have low, it can be dangerous.

Ah, that explains alot....I was washing some road crap off my truck in the winter and for some reason right after I was done, started it up and the fan wasn't working....only on high!? I thought it was moisture getting in...I'll have to look. Weird.
