Quick Question on Headers

ok so here it is, those four small holes on above the exhaust ports ( ERG i thing?) do those get blocked off when you buy headers or do you have to make your own block off plates to cover those. thanks

My '85/22RE came with the plates stock and I moved them over to the header when I installed it:

Later models had PAIR (pulsed air injection?) plumbing attached to those ports, but the EGR plumbing is actually inside the head.

some designs don't have them. As I believe they are only required on the 22REC motors. There are block on your manifold (well at least on the 22re) and some header manufacturor require you to reuse those, other include them.

look around..i think LCE might have the blockoff plates if your header didnt come with them or if your manifold doesnt have them

my manifold on my 22r had the EGR still in place...but the 20R exhaust header i put on there covered em up lmao

On my 20r head i had the shop to tap the holes and just plug them for me. Also on my pacesetter header it has those tubes built in but then I just welded the ends shut(Before i pluged the holes on the head itself)
