Norrish creek BC
so myself and about a dozen other trucks (mostly toys) went up to norrish creek. Most of the trails are pretty much dried up creekbeds, short with no exit. just U-turn it and back down you go. Lots of snow dumped in the last week or so, made for some very slippery climbs. BJ's loop was bone dry last sept when i was there last, this time 'round it was a rushing creek. I mostly took pics as usual, so not many of me. I didnt try 6' under this time as it was difficult enough in dry summer conditions. anyway, onto the pix:
heading into bj's loop, its very difficult to pick lines when you dont know where the rocks are and you cant get out since youre pretty much in a creek. my front dropped into a hole i didnt see...needless to say it was pretty hairy. there was a log directly at my DS window..and had i gone further sideways, it would have been sharing the drivers seat with me :laugh
my buddy joe with his exo'd 85:
another exo'd toy:

both green 1st gen and maroon 2nd gen are on crazy 3links in the back. just recently built, it still needs some tweaking and some spring retainers or limiting straps, as we had to pop the springs back in on a couple fully flexed situations:

so while those guys were coming back down 6' under, the rest of us decided to head up the road to canopener, another trail about 5km up. but on our way there..the snow got deeper, until the last set of tracks stopped. thats where we stopped, tried to turn around but got stuck trying. after a snapped winch cable, a cut tug strap, we managed to free ourselves n head back down.
this is how it looked on our way up to canopener:
after i got stuck tugging the hilux, he snapped his winchline on a 90 degree hard pull, buried belly deep in pow. he ended up retying his line, cut me free from my strap, and got himself turned around n winched me out. snow wheeling is fun!
thats all

haha...he's a guy from bellingham that crosses over to come wheel with us sometimes. on our way into bj's loop, he got stuck.
and then another guy that tagged along, with a boner stock zuk sidekick...tried to make it in as well. needless to say, stock 28 inchers, no traction control, and the lowest belly in the group, he backed up everyone else. a good amount of time was spent tryin to get him unstuck, till he finally got yanked out.
cant blame these guys for tryin though...although they would have been more suited to a stocker friendly run.
