Removing sleeve in shock
The shocks I ordered for the rear have a metal sleeve in the bottom part. If I can remove the sleeve it will fit right over the rear mount. Is there an easy way to remove this sleeve or will I have to cut/grind it out?

I jost found a bolt of the same diameter and just tapped it through. SHouldn't be too bad.
Or if you can get some needle noses on it, try yanking it that way.

Tried all of the above and its not budging. I tried cutting it out, but I don't have anything that can get in there. This a rancho shock with poly bushings.

the bushing most likely wont fit anyways. i had this problem on my 4Runner. i ended up drilling out the bushings and buying new ones. the guy at the 4x4 shope where i bought my new bushings said that they cheat and burn them out.

You'll notice the sleeve is just a rolled pin so it already has 1 slice in it. Use the hacksaw to cut another slice in it about 90 degrees apart and you should be able to get that small chunk out of it. Then bend up the rest of it and pull it out. But, no, you've still got to wrestle it out with a vise grip.

I use a pitman puller and a socket extension to get them out, worked like a charm. Got them both out in a few minutes, almost done with the rear, then to the front.

I got some free Rancho F150 takeoffs from my work, and the only way I got them out was to destroy the bushing. Other shocks have sleeves that are pretty easy to remove, but not Ranchos!!
