downey springs flex

do the downey lift leafs for a 92 pickup 4wd increase wheel travel? if they do, how much?

anyone got pics of the downeys?

I have the 3 inch springs on my Runner, and they increased wheel travel by about 5-6 inches, but i had add-a-leafs on there before, and they really limited the travel. I like them a lot.

i see you're running those with the shackles, and im not sure exacly what the shackles do in your application

do your 1.5" shackles assist the lift? articulation?

extended shackles due increase articulation as they allow the springs to compress or droop more as compared with stock shackles

awesome, thanks for the info

so shackles do increase articulation (good thing), but do they effect the lift at all? i'm planning on a 1.5" bj spacer lift up front, and dont want too much of a lift in the rear

Yes, shackles increase lift:

to the tune of approx. 1/2" per extra inch of shackle length.

And yes, shackles can increase articulation (springs and shocks permitting) to the tune of 1" for each additional inch of shackle length.

That is if you run a 2" longer than stock shackle, you get 1" of lift and, if the springs allow it, you can compress the springs back to the bumpstop which is now 1" farther away, so you get 2" of extra up-down travel.

here's the setup i'm thinking about running

1.5" spacers up front

downey 3" rear lift leafs w/ marlin shackles 1" over stock

would this look funky? front only getting 1.5" while rear gets about 3-1/2"?

how would this compare to a downey 2" lift leafs w/ downey 2-1/2" over stock shackles setup?

one last thing, besides downey and marlin shackles, what other places should i look?
