Can 4" clear 35"s

I wanted to no if a 4 inch lift would be tall enough to clear 35 inch tires on my 1986 4Runner? Thanks for the help.

What size rims will you be running and how wide of a 35? What brand lift are you buying? And Welcome to YotaTech BTW. Ben

Talking Howdy

Tuscaloosa here. Welcome to YT. 4" might be close as I've seen 35s on a couple rigs and most had like 5-6" of lift. Test fit one and see!

The only diff I see is you having a 1st gen and mine being a 2nd. I ran 35X12.5's on 8" wide wheels for a few months with little rubbing. But I am not sure on our fender differences.

Usually the 4" IFS lifts will require that you run 3.5" or so backspacing on the wheels to clear the lift. This will push the wheels and tires out from the body and increase the likelyhood of rubbing, so usually you need 2" body lift + 4" IFS lift to clear 35s:

Lift vs. tire size info.

I was hoping to get a 4 in. trail master kit because it uses blocks in the rear so i could keep the add-a-leafs, and adjusted torsion bars i already have plus the trail master kit for about 5.5 or 6 in. total lift i just wanted to know for sure i could clear 35"s with that before i got it. Thanks for all the info.

5.5-6" should clear fine, however with torsion bars cranked, it probably wont ride the best
