So the truck is done! I didn?t get any info on whether or not there is a break in period, the shop that set them up is very reputable and I?m not sure if they have some sort of pre test run setup. Any how I?m taking it easy on the driveline for 500 miles, then I?ll drain the oil and fill er up again. I?m very interested to break the rear end loose , and have a itchy trigger finger on the front locker. Initial thoughts, well it?s like it revs up and never down shifts thus the higher rpm?s during highway cruising. Initial acceleration is good might be able to break it loose if I wanted (wasn?t able to b4). Also the Aisin hubs are hidden, since I?m running the wheel spacers so it sets the hubs in and the center caps snap in place. So do I have manual hubs or don?t I ? It?s a sleeper for sure.

Austin (my brother) has installed some Total Chaos UCA?s to his 6? Fabtech lift and whooooa, next up are a set of RaceRunner shock and springs.

hell ya man, Your 3rd gen is prolly my favorite here on YT. Keep up the sweet mods man. When i regeared to 5.29s I didnt go above 55-60MPH for the break-in period. Like you said make sure you drain the diff fluid. When i did it, my fluid was DARK, even though I put Full Synthetic in the diff. Oh and lets see some more pics of your brother's Taco.

i know that 4runner cv's will not work with more than a 3" suspension lift...and i've seen tacomas w/ifs(also run cv's) have lifts of 5" or more...is this why you are switching to tacoma cv's?theoretically, can i have more lift on my 4runner if i put taco cv's? are they even compatible?

I'm running the Tacoma non ADD cv's so I can use manual hubs, there is another runner on here using a trailmaster 5" ifs lift running regular cv's to the best of my knowledge.

Looking good bro!

Wow, just think if you were not running spacers...it would match up perfectly.

Yeah but then the wheels wouldn't be level with the outside of the fender and that would look not cool, nor would it help the whole turning radius rub. I could opt for Cruiser wheels but I'd need 5 and then I would have to get rid of 9 limited wheels. So spacers are good and they are strong and the stance is better with them as well. Funny enough they were purchased initially to correct tire rub I had from my 285 Interco SSR's which were really 33.9" in diameter and too wide to run without spacers or different wheels.

Yeah, I figured the reason why you were running spacers were due to the narrow oem wheels and wider tires. Hey, I'm all for getting the tires level w/ the fenders too...I just thought it would look even better w/ the hubs flush . But you gotta weigh the pros and cons and find the best match.

Did you get your DRL issue worked out?

I would certainly recommend a pre-built rear just to alleviate such a problem. I also noticed some weird feeling that I can't describe, so I pulled the hubs that had been installed. Driver side I couldn't even turn from free to lock. WTF so I pulled it and remembered with my old truck you have to put them in in lock position. Prior to this so I could eliminate any suspicion I Lifted the front of the turck off the ground. Then removed driver side set to lock and re-installed, I repeated the same for the pass side. The pass side would turn but not all the way to lock. After I pulled both and re-seated them in the lock position I was able to turn them both from free to lock with ease. Yeah It works. Now I just have to find a place to test the lockers smile
