Spring Over and Axle Wrap

hey! i was wondering if ppl could tell me how their truck rides with spring overs. I have a spring over on my 91 yota, and i just put new downey 3" lift springs and ext. shackles on. i have a rancho traction bar which pretty much eliminates AXLE WRAP, but also limits dramaticaly my articulation and possibly ride comfort.

how many of you yota owners have spring overs? Do you guys have problem with axle wrap? any info would be great. i might just leave the traction bars on during road driving, and take them off when i hit the dirt roads and trails. easy to bolt on and off.

ride on!!!

Every single Toyota 4x4 and Prerunner truck and 4Runners are sprung over, from the factory. Only Toy's that were sprung under are 2wd pickups.

I believe what he means by Axle-wrap is the angle of the pinion gear, under load in relationship to the relaxed position.

I had some hideous axle wrap going on until I revamped my leaf pack. Now it's all gone

Inserting a stiff AAL into the pack will usually solve the problem.

To a certain degree, yes. But, not a lot.

It will also give you a touch of lift, from 3/4" to 2.5" or so depending upon which AAL you choose for your application

...And unmodified FJs of every kind. They come spring under.

This whole leaf pack issue is very interesting to me. I think that a normal overload leaf would be enough to limit wrap unless you are using lift blocks. Sometime this winter I will be building my own spring packs but I haven't decided what to use yet. I'm thinking stock top and overload leafs and Mazda junkyard leafs in between. Then to top it off, orbit eye and maybe scissor shackles with a pin that could be removed for offroading. I'd have like 2 feet of rear travel with the standard 7 inches up front.
