Speedi-Sleeve for Rear Axles..?

Hi All,

I am getting fed up of replacing 3rd Gen Rear Axle oil seals, my 4Runner is a '96 but only has 48K miles on it. I have replaced the right oil seal 4 times and the left 6 times. I even had new axels and bearings put in about 2 years ago... Does any one know if there is a Speedi-Sleeve that I can use on these shafts. I doubt the shafts are worn but figure if the Speedi-Sleeve could make them just that little bit larger then the seal might have a better chance of keeping the oil in.

Thanks,

Sure you don't have a bent axle or bent axle housing?

Take a breath

Or perhaps the breather is plugged.

if the breather is clogged. it will cause the seals to blow. even if its extended. very common.

Marlin crawler doesn't make one for the ABS axles. I wish they did.

I don't think the breather is plugged since it is a big 'ol fuel filter on the end of a sturdy type-A1 marine hose tucked up under the fuel filler - but it's a worth a check...

Might they last 8-16 months (guestimating, based on how many I have changed in the past 5 years), or would they go straight away if something was bent..?

Abused did cross my mind also, I drive all of 6 minutes to and 6 from work every day and since my drive time is so short I try to get all my driving kicks in in that short space of time, routinely I will break a tire loose either accelerating or decelerating I love my Sports Truck

So I take it no one has heard of or used a Speedi-Sleeve on the runner..? Maybe I need to spend a little mote time with my good freind
