Replacing Coil Boots part of PM?
Hi everyone!
I did not find anything browsing Toyota scheduled maintenance schedules, nor forum threads, so want to ask:
When is everyone changing their coil boots? Every spark plug change? Every-other? Not until misfiring starts? Etc?
I just hit 120K miles and I want to stay up on my preventative maintenance. Since our 4Runners do not have distributor caps/rotors (which I normally would change when changing spark plugs), I was not sure if I should be changing the coil boots at spark plug intervals or not...
Thanks!

I've never heard anything called a coil boot. If you're talking about the spark plug wire, which runs from the coil pack to the spark plug, then yes, replace them when you replace the plugs.

Was not aware you could change those, i have never messed with that. For that price i would not either, i would just buy a new coil for slightly more if i ever needed it.

Wait until you have a coil go bad, then replace the coil and the boot at the same time. No need to replace something that is not broke.
If you are looking to spend $$$ on PM for ignition, plugs and wires are a good start.
